Up for auction si a great looking airguide thermometer produced by fee and stemwell. I am not certain of the designer, but i believe teague was responsible for one or more of the airguide designs. This model is a maroon bakelite, which isn't as common as the lback cases. It also has matching, maroon letters and numerals. hTis is one of my favorite deco thermometers as it features a brown bakelite case with a baseball face. Ntoe the the off white baseball face and the stitching which represents the markers for temp and humidity. A series of 3 deco speed lines encompass the face. A nickel plated bezel ring dresses the piece. An extra bit of class is found in the machine age orb feet that mimic the roundness of the ball shaped face. They too have a series of stepped speed lines that give them a sense of motion. Condition excellent! This piece has spent its life indoors. If you aer looking for an clean example, look no further. hTe bakelite and chrome have been hand polished and are shiny. The face is free of stains, glass has no chips or scratches, chrome is free of pitting and loss, the often rusted back plate is in great shape. I ahve removed the glass and cleaned the inside.
